"Old" and "New" members come together to take on new challenges
By Toni Moore Duggan
Providence has again provided. They heard the call and they said “yes.” Janice Greene, Daniel Medinger, Therese Wilson-Favors, Carol Depestre, Dr. Marie-Alberte Boursiquot, Deacon Seigfried Presberry, Dr. Carla Hayden and Dr. Kirk Gaddy have joined Ex-Officio members: Archbishop Edwin O’Brien, Cardinal Keeler, Sister Annette Beecham, OSP, Father John Bowen, SS, Sister Virginie Fish, OSP and long standing members: Florence Cowans, Sister Veronica de los Santos, OSP, Toni Moore Duggan, Father Donald Fest, SSJ, Sister Magdala Marie Gilbert, OSP, Lenwood Johnson, Sister Marina Kelly, OSP, Sister Babette Opferman, IHM, LaVerna Scruggs, Sister Madeline Swaboski, IHM, and Christine Tolson as members of the Mother Lange Guild Board of Directors.
Toni Moore Duggan, president, and members, many who have served since it’s inception in 1991, welcome new members who have accepted the invitation to work together to promote the cause for canonization of Mother Lange.
The purpose of the Guild’s Board of Directors is two-fold. Primarily it is to assist the Oblate Sisters of Providence in promoting the cause for canonization of Mother Mary Lange. Then it lends corporate strength in advising, assisting, planning and executing activities and/or projects to educate, clarify and help raise funds to finance the process of promoting Mother Lange.
These gifted and committed men and women continue the challenge with renewed determination and vigor. Please God hope will soon be realized in the canonization of Servant of God Mother Mary Lange. A Commitment Service is scheduled for May 31, 2008 at two p.m. Archbishop Edwin O’Brien will officiate.
